HOW TO BE WORRY FREE?
Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere. ~Glenn Turner
Our mind is like a record player….it is continuously on. It is mans nature to keep on mulling over a thought or an issue. We chew it, toss and turn it, suck all the juice out of it, stretch it and then spit it. Of course we are left with a bad after taste.
Troubles are a lot like people - they grow bigger if you nurse them. ~Author Unknown
We are what our thoughts are! So be positive!
These are a few of my funda or mantras to keep ‘worry’ at bay –
SLEEP
I take my problems to bed, i.e., I sleep over it. When I get up relaxed and refreshed, I will have the clarity to think well and more over the problem doesn’t seem as ominous as before.
READ
Reading a book helps a lot. We get transported into another world and another time, taking our mind off our problems albeit temporarily.
EXERCISE
Brisk walk, jogging or going to the gym, yoga or whichever exercise you may follow, it will help. Other than scientific reasons that exercises reduce stress, all the huffing and puffing certainly will.
GAMES
If you are a gadget freak and have the latest toys, playing games will help. I just switch on the computer and play either solitaire or some word games which keep the mind active and attentive.
Apart for all these, listening to songs, talking to your loved ones, playing with a pet, meditating……all of these may also help. Take a chill pill or just chill.
You can never worry your way to enlightenment. ~Terri Guillemets
As the song goes….”Don’t worry, be Happy.”
P.S: Am I worried as to how this blog of mine will be received by others? Hmmmm….I am off to play a game of scrabble!
