He would melt at her smile. Laughing at every silly thing she said or did. He was a dotting dad.
He didn't bat an eyelid and smirked while shooting a person dead, cold blood.
He remembered the birthdays and anniversary, was always at his wife's side whenever she needed him.
He was ruthless....raping women in front of their husbands, before killing them both in front of their kids.
He was always there for his family....always moved to tears at the drop of a hat. Emotional.
He never forgot and nor did he forgive. He made the kids peddle drugs and trafficked young girls, sold them. Stone hearted.
At home, he was divine.... a perfect husband and father.
Away from home, he was the devil. Feared and hated by many. He was THE mafia.

DeleteMy lovely Janu,
ReplyDeleteHow true are your words today!! Sadly, many men live such a life, even right here in America. There was one called...The Green River Killer and yes, so many more. Very well written my dear friend.
Thanks a lot Andy dear.
DeleteAnd, according to everything we've ever seen and heard about them, he is exactly what they are. A family man, doting husband and father, who weeps at sensitive things and, heartless killer outside of the home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous capture this is! :)
Thanks Daydreamertoo.
DeleteSo very true that many live two lives and the other side is never aware. What a life that must be to live through, always fearing one would find out the other.

ReplyDeletePerhaps, we're not aware of our own split personalities esp. in our social networks. We do wish people to see only the good things in us. Oh well, I might be wrong :P
You are right, we do have some duality within us. Thanks Mel.
