Born with wings
Every intention to fly
And to reach the dizzy heights,
Tarnished....
Manipulated by men
Used as a pawn
And many a times a puppet
In their vicious game
Of power and their righteousness
Wings clipped,
She was torn,
Lost her voice...crying,
They were all
Blind, deaf and mute
Or pretended to be so
So she let go
And beat them to it!!

We've just witnessed a horrible crime on tv and it's enough to make one condemn men in general.
ReplyDeleteYour post is stirring ~ women have won their freedom and voice. We shouldn't let it be drowned by cruelty and cycle.
We always have a choice.
whew th end gave me shivers a bit....her hopelessness to give up before they did...
ReplyDeleteoh heck..clipped wings and then it births a cycle of sadness..
ReplyDeleteSuch a moving reflection on the plight of so many women in this world. Know you will touch many hearts with this.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Quite moving - thanks.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Beautiful poem!
ReplyDeleteMy lovely Janu,
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else....powerful and beautifully written poem. Of course there is a lot of truth in it. Sadly, this world has been condemned. No one has the power to stop such sadness. Example...if it was bad in the days of our grandparents...how much worst it is today!! Yes and it will get even worst my dear. Thanks for sharing.
On my computer, Your images don't show. All I see is a black background with a black and white circle or that awful black triangle! :-(
DeleteI also have the same problem with the images here. :(

the world is manipulated by men who seek power and self-aggrandizement while most women prefer to be nurturing

Good for her!~! ... We women tend to allow men to think they are above us and not instead, our equals. Without women there could be no man. I'm so glad she found her courage :)
ReplyDelete'I am woman hear me roarrrrrrr' LOL
Moving write, well done.
