RENAISSANCE MAN.

This canvas was blank
You painted it
With vibrant emotions
And myriad colors.

You do not have a wand
No magical words
Yet, everything becomes
Magical around you.

Composing brilliant symphonies
Playing with the chords
Of the heart
You orchestrated
Life like a melody.

Moldingchiseling
And sculpting
Breathing life and beauty
Into this formless form.

You don't have wings
Yet, you watch over
Engineering everything
A master craftsman
Spinning and weaving words
Making me fly with you..

Are you a Polymath or Lord?

  3. Somehow I linked your "Renaissance Man" with your Rumi quote and my own response to Rilke, so that my first take on it was the way such a person could set up his canvas near yours and love. My second take is, yes, this is how the world grows around two when they find the magic, the music, the form, the spinning wheel, the wings.

  6. AUTHORITY

    I wish I was a mighty snowman,
    created from the fallen ruth,
made up to ridicule the strongman
by being without cloak and booth.

  8. My dear Janu,
I could remember watching some very talented artists on TV teaching how to paint pictures. Yes, they started from scratch with the outcome being AMAZING!! You are very creative with words my dear.

  9. what an amazing painting. You took the blank canvas and painted a beautiful piece of art with your word pallet Janu. It was like a dance of colours and a splash here and there of magic.
    Very lovely read :)

  16. I think that an artist's tools can be a magic wand, able to conjure up greatness in the right hands. Very nicely done! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Poetry Jam this week!
