She dazzled in Red and he, in his black Tux. From across the room, all he had to do was to look at her and she would be by his side, smiling.
He would lovingly slide his arm across her back, pull her towrds him to kiss her on the lips.
They were perfect, inseparable, so in love and envied too.
When the last of the guests had left, she ran to her sanctuary - the bathroom and locked herself. As she sat in front of the mirror, removing the make-up, the bluish-green bruise marks on her face became visible.
