A pact made, signed,
Sealed and tucked away
In the depths of the heart
Conscience, the only witness
Of this act
Holding hands, silently
Promising to walk...together
Two steps farther
A hand breaks away
For a greener pasture
The deal broken,
The shards lying
To be picked up
When pain is the vacuum
Smile, a saving grace
Zen master you must be
Moving on, not even a
Backward glance, no adieu,
No words to right a wrong?
OR
Was it a blessing in disguise?

ugh...what a turn...greener pastures...that has to sting...and leave one wondering what they were lacking....is it a blessing in disguise? i guess sometimes it can be...but in the moment does not make it easy...
ReplyDeletevery nicely written. I believe that all things happen for a reason and the new paths end up in greener pastures. I agree with Brian, the moments when it happens and for a long while after, it is not easy - I speak from my own experience.
ReplyDeletePerceptive and wise...
ReplyDeleteProbably a huge blessing! Ha!
ReplyDeleteNicely captured.

after some time, usually becomes a blessing in disguise!
ReplyDeleteHmmm..very interesting. Just today I read about how people move on from each other when their vibrational fields don't match. This seems something like that - but it still hurts, doesn't it?
ReplyDeletemove on from each other....
ReplyDeleteProbably a blessing in disguise...
ReplyDeleteBut that doesn't make it any less painful.

The end of what was a good thing is heartbreaking ... even if it needed to happen for valid reasons. :)
ReplyDeleteThe final question completely changes the whole poem --- and gives it greater depth. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteOuch....that hurts for sure.....you have captured the thoughts and pain of this well!1 :-)
