BY THE RIVER.

She loved nature, the beauty - untouched and virgin. This is where she escaped every weekend. This is where she found solace, inspiration and the will to live. It was the salt/sweet smell of the river, the placidity of which filled her with immense peace and tranquility, very unlike the place where she made a living.

Here, she was alive. She could sit by the river feeling and experiencing the innumerable sunrises and sunsets, the splendor with which they splashed the sky with colours - pink, orange, red, blue, indigo, grey, silver, black and their infinite hues....mersmerized.

After all these years, she could differenciate the sounds they made; the ducks, eagles, kites, coromorants, herons to name a few. This was her haven, her home. This is where she composed her music, on her violin. The music that made way to Broadway musicals. This is where she found music...in the incessant stridulate of crickets and grasshoppers, the noises made by insects during the night; the stillness of the night broken by an occasional call of a bird, complaining about its disturbed peace. She found music in the gentle sway of grass, the ripples the blowing wind caused in the river, the rustle of leaves in the nearby tress, the bird calls.

As much as she loved it here, she always went back to the cacophony, the fast paced life, the human rush chasing something. If she did not go back there, she would not able to appreciate this...the silence and solace. She was tuned with the elements here.  This was a place without expectations instead it gave.

This was where her beloved had lived and perished, in this very river. This is where she had lost her legs, in that terrible boat accident, binding her to a wheelchair for the rest of her life. This is where she has lost her unborn child. The river had taken a lot from her life...but, she held no grudges. She had let it go a long time back, because this is where she would feel the presence of her husband and child. This where they merged.

I love the story and the idea of life moving on - though altered and tragically affected, moving on with joy and hope and anchored by memory.

    Lovely.
