“In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.”
― Rumi
..aww... i think letting go comes after hope... for one cannot let go if one didn't see / feel a single hope in life... so if hope is eternal optimism i think letting go is more of leading to perpetual happiness... because you learn to accept & understand everything that lets you initially escape from moving forward... ha, very contemplative Janu... i like it... smiles...
good question and i like what kelvin says...that letting go coming after hope... we see something that is not within our reach if we hold on to the things we have in hands...we have to toss ourselves forward, swing through the air and grab it maybe...
oh dang...really good question...that was like a fastball down the middle...whew...i think it plays both sides actually...all depends on what you are letting go....
I have already commented, but could you please also provide a link to Poetry Jam - Sacrifices (Laurie provided the link) in your poem, since you also linked there? Thank you.
Funny title and thought provoking poem. I enjoyed reading it.

ReplyDeleteDeep question! But I do think letting go is a hopeful action too - we let go believing something better is in store. :)

ReplyDeleteGood question--as several have said before me here. I guess my answer would be that letting go is changing your mind or your priorities.
