"Autograph please?"- I ask.
She looks up
Her smile lighting up her eyes
"Tea?" she asks
Exuding warmth
She is not her stories.
Looking straight in my eyes...
"I restore myself when I am alone," she says.
"Huh?"
"Only parts of us will ever
Touch parts of others-
One's own truth is just that really-
One's own truth.
We can only share the part that is
Within another's knowing acceptable
So one is for most part...alone."
She stumps me with her wisdom
Open mouthed I gape.. an enigma she is
Blows me a kiss
Pushes a paper towards me
Before walking away.
Unfolding the paper-
"To have your heart is the only completely
happy proud thing (that ever belonged to me)
I have ever possessed so."
I feel sad for her,
She is a legend for all the wrong reasons.

ugh, what a last line...it encapsulates her well...have you watched 'SMASH' at all...really the first season revolved heavily around Marilyn as the actors vied for her character...it was interesting to see them interact with her story...

I find a lot of Marilyn's quotes inspiring. It is so easy for people to judge her even without truly knowing her just because she was famous.
