This is for the Blog-A-Licious Blog Tour 9 and as always Dora has thrown a googly at us ( In cricket, a googly is a type of delivery bowled by a right arm leg spin bowler….basically to confuse the batsmen) and the topic of this tour is a Googly ---a reader or a writer, which would you rather be?
There are other creative and talented writers in this tour who are offering their opinions. Please to visit them.
This is akin to asking whom do you love more – dad or mom?
When I was not writing, I was quenching my thirst by reading, sometimes at such a feverish speed that I was compromising on the household chores and then chastising myself for the work not done.
Reading is a getaway – to another world, into the writer’s mind, to another place, another time. It is all about gaining knowledge however small it is. Reading offers a fresh or new perspective, a new dimension to our notions.
“For me books have been a life-long resource to learning, laughter, solace, excitement, inspiration. At your library, the world awaits you, free for the asking.” Lady Bird Johnson
“Words are our most inexhaustible source of magic, capable of both inflicting injury and remedying it.” Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows – Part 2.
We write for the same reason we read books that others will read what we have written. Writers are readers first. If nothing we all read what our critics have to say!
Since I have started writing, I have broken boundaries I had set for myself. You can run amok, fly high in the sky, go anywhere, do anything, climb the highest mountain, or dive deep into the sea, travel in space or beyond………it is limitless. Like any other art there are no limits in creativity….only the ones you set for yourself. More than the appreciation I feel it is the acceptance of the readers which motivates a writer to write.
A writer’s mind is never idle, always dreaming, conjuring images and weaving words.
I prefer this form of expressing myself.
