A MOMENT OF GOOD INTENTION.

Separated from her mom,
Surviving her predators,
Lost, bruised and battered
Wet in the rain
She wails for help.

Everyone is good at heart
And have intentions to match that too
Yet, they just pity her
And walk away...
They have things to do.

Her wails pierce my heart
Thou' I have two of my own,
We bring her home...
Some warmth,
Some love,
Some stability
Some security and
Some food was her need.

She is frail and scared
Trust doesn't come easy
She can't stop crying
The situation is dicey.
She is fed
And given warm bed
As she learns to love
She learns to trust too.

Note- This is a poem about a injured tiny kitten we helped survive the rains. This can as well be good for anyone.

  4. Thank goodness there are people like you who do this type of thing for our fellow creatures. It shows you have such goodness and compassion in your heart.
“You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.” ― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
    You are that person Janaki.

  5. What a beautiful MOMENT - to rescue this little kitten. As you said, so many people walked on. YOU saw a little life in peril and acted. Yes, we all can learn from this.

  6. Good intention, and good deed. Not all of us have that kind time and space in our hearts be it for person or animal. Bless those that do! Great poem.

  12. I immediately thought of a cat when I started reading this but also realized it is quite universal in its meaning--so many need love and the chance to develop trust. Nicely poemed.
