Me and my brother were estranged for many years. We got together last year...though there were issues, it seemed that all those years of separation did not exist at all.
As adults, we discovered we shared some common interests.
He and his daughter, are F1 "FANATICS" and Lewis Hamilton, their God! I was not a F1 enthusiast till he got me hooked!
Last year, at an Vodafone sponsored F1 event in Bengaluru, my brother had the opportunity of not only meeting Hamilton himself, but, also got to ride a hot lap with him! How cool can that be!!!
As he was recounting his experience, I could feel the shivers of his excitement. I want to experience the same.
To be very frank, I heard of Hamilton, only when my brother mentioned him. I was like - 'Hamilton? who?" My brother had this incredulous look on his face....a look that clearly conveyed that I was demented not to know Hamilton.
Wow! You should have heard the sermon he gave right after that....going on and on about Mr. No 1.
Well, Mr. Hamilton...I did see you perform on the track after that on TV. Now, let me see for myself if you are as good as you seem to be. You must be, otherwise, you would not be here. But, I am not going to agree blindly without checking out myself. Is your 'lap'
(pun intended) as exciting as it looks on TV? Hope you will impress me and thrill me with your speed and control and leave me begging and panting for more!!!

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure who Mr. Hamilton is or what the meaning of a hot lap is either, but I love how you wrote this! It was sensitive and funny at the same time with a hint of naughtiness! Works for me! Also, glad you're reunited with your brother. Family is a gift. :-)
