USED AND ABUSED.

Mangled remains
Used and discarded
That’s how life is
Once served and
Revered for usefulness
Now, job done
No point accumulating
Dispose what you don’t need
Gather the pieces
Make it whole somewhat
Build a memorial
Hail all things useless!!

  3. Liked the way you make us think twice about throwing something away because it might have lost its original usefulness. Can't we use it in a different way? Great poem and the photo fits perfectly!
    Blessings!

  4. smiles...sadly we do label many things useless once we are done with them....i do like the bit of redemption there in the end of a memorial to all things useless....

  6. Brilliant response to the image. This Junk-Man sculpture should have your poem engraved upon its base.

  11. Being used and for no useful purpose anymore, they are discarded. Being old can also be revered and be respected in a different context! How true, Janaki!

  13. This made me wonder, are all those memorials there only to 'hail the useless'? well, this is just an aside. your poem is nice and crisp.
