Beauty pageants over-rated, beauty industry a boom
Looking young and good today is a dope
An epidemic of this age
Spares no one, affects everyone of every age
All the hype and effort makes one look boomm
Look good & you're perpetuate-ly high on this dope
Occasionally, the media exposes a dope
Wherein reality, nothing arrests our age
Gullible customers, companies cash in on this boom
You b(l)oom, you dope and you age with grace and experience!
For -
(Boomm is a slang meaning bored out of my mind)
Definitely pageants are over-rated; and so many products out there capitalizing on everyone's desire to look 'good.'

My lovely Poetess,
ReplyDeletePageants are design to make money...and money alone. Example, what is sexy? It is an appeal that thrills both the eyes and mind. Point being, anyone that we think is sexy, thrills us, whereas may do nothing for others. Beauty is also based upon opinions. The heart of the woman is most beautiful because of her values and qualities that will never fade. Sadly, her image will fade in time. Beauty also comes from her conduct, her walk, her speech, her personality. You are BEAUTIFUL and - - - - to me my sweet Poetess!!
You attempt a tricky and controversial theme in this poem - there will always be those who try to put their own standard on beauty, with unfortunate consequences as you've set out.
