PIECE DE RESISTANCE.
He tried to stop her
Break her stride,
Only to get her dirty look.
She fumed silently
It did a world of good
To them, a weapon she often used.
They were a team
Had been since ages
Or so it seemed.
Danced to many tunes
Seen the world thru’
Each other eyes,
Earning accolades, fame and all.
Inseparable as they were
She trusted him with her
Eyes closed, he was
Too good…no sweat there.
Yet, he strayed,
To hell with her,
I can have better was his thought.
She cried, was blitzed out
Sulked & ranted; didn’t
Do a world of good to either.
He had his axe to grind
And she had hers, and
She shut off to the world.
She left, so did
The music, the rhythm
And the dance. His castle
Crumbled along with his ego
Nothing he did or said could
Bring her back…who was his
Piece de resistance.
