Stillness of the night broken
By the occasional
Call of the cricket
And creatures of the dark.
Cannot see what is ahead
Yet, extend my hands
To touch the darkness.
It allows us to see…
With effort, that what’s beyond
Search for the right path
Where you can find none.
Morning reveals what the
Night masked and camouflaged.
Both beauty and the ugly,
Can be seen distinctly
The vivid colors of the flowers
Green of the leaves,
Variety of birds and beasts,
Man made concrete jungle & waste.
The cycle and the balance
In nature, created & destroyed…
Yet, miracles seem to diminish.

very well written Janu..each post of yours has something different to say...you are a versatile writer.
ReplyDeletenice..it is easier for me at night so i like what you say about seeing the normally unseen path...the light though lets us as well see reality...

Great words and cool picture...imagine it in color:)
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written. I often listen to the darkness...it's amazing what you hear in the night if you're still.
ReplyDeleteI love the night, always have, something mysterious and explainable. Like your stylenof writing.
ReplyDeletelike how you captured the beauty of the night as well as the morning with a great play of words:)
ReplyDeleteHello.
ReplyDeleteIt's not possible for me to write during the day due to work, so I prefer to write poetry late into the night when everyone is asleep & it's just me, my muse & the stillness.
Nicely done Janu!
Thanks for sharing & visiting.

Beautiful words :) I agree with Mani's comment :) You are getting better with every post. :) xx
ReplyDeleteWords seem to come to me more in the stillness of the night, when I am forced to concentrate on my inner being. With only a small area lit, unable to see through the darkness, I remain focused on my task.
ReplyDeleteI love how you have blended this into an image, moving through the night into the light of day. Well written Janu!

Oh my, I love your work! I haven't visited in a while and what a lovely gift it is to my reading eyes and heart to take in your thoughts. You also have one of my favorite Rumi quotes up top - that one never fails to make me smile.
ReplyDeleteNamaste',
Dawn

ReplyDeleteMany times I ride the same road and what I see during the day and the night are so different and it does bring out varied emotions...
ReplyDeleteLovely poem Janu! What a coincidence, my poem yesterday on my blog, too was dedicated to nature!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great poem Janu. So ... full of spirituality.
ReplyDeleteThe light of the day reveals both. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteSplendid! I could absolutely feel the contrast between night and day; how night conceals both the beautiful and the eye-sores . . .
