The water crashes on my legs
White bubbles clinging to my feet
Going ‘pop’ the next second,
The water force threatens
To pull me away
Into the deep blue sea;
Momentarily I lose balance
Then see it retreating
Gathering force...
Taking away the sand
Leaving a trail,
Proof of its strength.
Rooted to the spot,
Transfixed, I see it attack
Again... like relentless guy pursuing.
I play with it,
Running away as it
Tries to catch me...teasing it,
Splashing and laughing with glee
Like long lost friends
Catching up with each other
I am a kid again.

DeleteYes. It's why I moved to the beach, the warmth there and the ever changing seascape. Good capture
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThese lines captured my attention:
ReplyDeleteTransfixed, I see it attack
Again... like relentless guy pursuing.
I play with it,
Even though separated by punctuation, I like how they work together, and using that image to relate to the sea and the beach.
Thank you...:-)Nice prompt.

ReplyDeleteHello.
ReplyDeleteDue to an accident when I was a youth, I prefer to stand as far back as possible from that sea water. I know only too well it's strength & power.
Beautifully expressed though.
Thanks for sharing.
That's so sad. :-)
