Save for a visit to the doctor, for my stitches removal, I have been holed up at home. Not by choice of course. It has been 20 days now, since I ventured out. Being a very physically active person, this is irritating.
I cannot sit for long as this swells up my foot and then again I can’t sleep for long too…sleeping in the same position makes my back ache. To top this all, due to all the inactivity, I am putting on weight…at the wrong places too, which is bad for me. To balance myself on one good foot and hop around, I can’t afford to be weighty. And, as it is I am throwing my weight around.
Being a cleanliness freak (read OCD) I like things to be done my way. My family is always helpful, but, am I ever satisfied? I really don’t know how to sit back and chill. So, I am hopping around the house with my walker making ‘clack’ ‘clack’ sound and setting things right, even if this stresses my good foot a lot.
If I am not ordering people around then I am on my laptop browsing, reading blogs, writing and then that has a limit too.
Then, I have my kittens and I let them inside the house and play with them for some time…they are a great stress buster.
When in hospital, I had lot of people visiting me, but, I was in pain and could not welcome their company. Now, I yearn for them.
As per doctor’s protocol I can’t put pressure of my right foot for another 15 days. Then the partial weight bearing starts. So, it will be another month at the earliest until I will be ready to walk again…till then I can’t help but ‘go nuts’ and also drive people crazy.

I am so sorry you are going through this, it sounds like it is very hard and I think I would go stir crazy! Hugs :)

Hugs and thanks RoseAnn.
DeleteI hate this for you. Here's to hoping that you can occupy your mind and remain sane for the rest of your down time. Feel better :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary...trying to remain sane.
DeleteI think I would be duck taping some sort of crutch to my leg by now. If you're walking on your 'crutch' you're not walking on your foot. Get better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, I know this is driving you crazy not to be able to be active. Praying you will find some new and interesting things to do while you are "holed up" and that your recovery will be quick, my friend!
ReplyDeleteBlessings in all things!
Thanks for the blessings Martha.
DeleteThis must be more than frustrating for you! So sorry you have to go through this...I pray you will heal completely and quickly.
ReplyDeleteIt is. Thanks Jess.
DeleteHoping that you will have a speedy recovery! I can relate; when I was pregnant with my daughter I spent 19 weeks on bed-rest...several of those weeks I spent on complete bed-rest.
ReplyDeleteIn the end it was so worth it!
Hugs..
DeleteAwww hang in there hun..soon you'll be running...wishing you well quickly....As always...XOXOOXOXO
ReplyDeleteBonnie XOXOXO
DeleteHere's wishing those 15 days fly by....and you are up and about soon. I know how frustrating it can be to be homebound-Sukanya
ReplyDeleteThanks Sukanya
DeleteSorry to hear about how you are feeling, Janaki. I know this sounds awful for me to say, but is the Universe telling you something through this all? That's the way I'd try to approach it...
ReplyDeleteI am trying to read this too. Thanks Corinne
DeleteI can understand the frustration Janaki but you need to heal completely. Take care dear friend
ReplyDeleteThank you Rimly.
DeleteHello Janu.
ReplyDeleteI can well understand your frustration.
Many years ago, my wife tore her Achilles Tendon. She had a caste from her knee down to her toes for 3 months. She's not physically active like you, but I would say it took her a good year, with rehabilitation to fully recover. Even today, 12 years on, that same leg gives her a spot of trouble.
Please take the time to heal properly. You are strong & will be back to your usual self in no time. Wishing you well, my dear.
Trying to be strong Andy.
DeleteOh Janaki, you are a strong person. It could be a bit tiring not do to anything else but this is a moment of grace and look at the marathons you're doing in the blog world. I couldn't run as fast ;)My blood pressure make me sleep more...
ReplyDeleteI pray for your fast recovery ~ it has its own time though :)
We are here for you. God bless you in every way.
Thank you Melissa...hope you take care of your blood pressure too.
DeleteThat sounds rough! I would be going a bit nuts too, but not because of cleaning. I hope the time flies. Keep playing with those kittens. They grow up fast. It's a blessing to be stuck with them right now. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's all I have been doing..playing with the kittens...thanks Rachel.
