He seldom took this road, especially on a night like this....no lights, not even the moon making an appearance, deserted and eerie. Except for a slight breeze and an occasional call of the cricket there was no sign of life. Boy! Was he apprehensive?
The stillness of the night was broken by a phone ringing in a distance. He was startled and then he remembered the phone booth in the middle of nowhere. He was surprised that it was working.
The phone was still ringing as he neared the booth....should he or shouldn’t he answer the call? He was drawn towards it...and found himself answering the call...
“Hello”
“Hey, lover boy! Wanna have some fun?”
The voice was sultry, sexy and definitely female.
He grinned....wow, this is what you call luck!

Absolutely. This is what I call luck. But where are those phones, today? I see this post as a tribute to those phone booths of yore. Now, everyone has a mobile and life has become less thrilling :(

DeleteThis was fun...I almost wanted to warn him off, but I guess it was his lucky night after all.
