AROUND THE WORLD...MY IMAGINATION!

Our mind is indeed a powerful tool. We can imagine whatever we want to. I have travelled to a lot of places by reading books, surfing the net and by seeing pictures. In reality, I have never been out of this country.

I have travelled within the country, but, what I have to see is lot more. I want to see it all. I am quite fascinated with the idea of backpacking around the globe visiting exotic places. Like Elizabeth Gilbert in Eat, Pray, Love.

Mostly I travel to my home town...home is where the heart is. And, I book the tickets online. It has reduced a lot of hassles. But, mind you, even with this convenience, I have made mistakes more than a couple of times in booking. This caused considerable monetary loss and undue stress.

Sigh! The pros and cons of me.

  1. Oh, I know what you mean! I've booked flight tickets for wring dates - something which I always check at least two times before clicking on 'make Payment' :P :D

    1. Now I ask my children to check before confirming payment.
      Thanks Akanksha.

  2. Someday...you'll do an Elizabeth Gilbert (not the whole nine yards, of course!). I made a huge mistake in booking my uncle's ticket to my wedding - he was the priest who solemnized our wedding - I booked his ticket for a whole year back! ;)

  3. I still use a travel agent for some of the international flights just because they sell cheaper than online. Domestic and Europe tickets are definitely online!

  4. I think it could get complicated which is why travel agents train to know how it is done for a price. I never go anywhere that would require a travel agent or the need to book anything...but it is amazing that if I did technology would be at my disposal to make it all that much easier.

    1. Good for you Kathy...as I don't travel much, my experience is not as rich as yours.

  5. Oh I already traveled to India, Janaki, through your, Corinne's, and our other Indian friends' blogs! *wink* ;-)

My mom always makes the travel agent take care of bookings and stuff when we travel abroad so so far, we haven't encountered any hassle. :-)
