OF SHADOWS AND COBWEBS.

Twilight casting shadows long
Eyes vacant and staring along
Forlorn...
Searching for familiar
The complacency it offers
Trying to comfort the mind
That dwindles and slips.

Sorting out the cobweb of thoughts
Knotted and bundled
Unscrambling each
Bringing a range of
Emotions - colorful
Some powerful, some subtle
Some not worth the thought.

Traversing the territory
May cause heartache of sorts
That's when the heart
Seeks succor from the lover.

  6. Ah yes, in the SHADOWS one always searches for the familiar, a way to unscramble the unknown. And into the lover's arms is definitely a good place to be!

  10. Janu, this was a wonderful poem about our tangled thoughts and the emotional knots that they cause. And how alone we feel in this place until love meets us there. We are all the same in so many ways. This brings me comfort.
    Sending love my poetess friend;)

  15. Great poem. The thoughts that haunt us. I like how you've highlighted that it is our mind that cause the most chilling emotions.
