The dizzy height of
Passion
When you lose control
Of self
The heart beats
Faster
The breath
Laboured
Eyes burning with
Desire
The sweet pain of
Longing
Just before the
Touch
Mouth dry with
Excitement
The nervousness before
The kiss
The expectant
Torture
The unhurried
Exploration
To the frenzy of
Hurried passion
Having it all
Yet, just not enough
At all
Hungry-thirsty
Bodies talking
Expressing where
Words fail
The fire never
Doused
And the satisfation
Momentary.

oh the end doused my flame just a bit....the fire never doused in your poem...the satisfaction only momentary...i guess i read into that, that it was not enough which saddens me....or maybe the fire is just so intense there is no hope of satisfaction which can be a good thing...either way, nice poem ma'am
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have captured the feeling of passion here! Hot stuff. I found myself reading faster and faster. I wonder about the difference if you would eliminate the last four lines? Finishing the poem in the 'heat' of it all?
ReplyDeleteVery passionate poetry--long may that fire burn ;-) Love that line "expressing where words fail"
ReplyDeleteThere is something about longing that can keep us from true satisfaction. It's like at times that chase is more appealing than the capture. I think your poem explores that idea.
ReplyDeleteOoh, hot! I love this line -
ReplyDeleteHungry-thirsty
Bodies talking
Expressing where
Words fail . . .
Because they always do in moments like these . . .
Sensuous and beautiful, Janu!
Nice write... I second Jessica Lang...
ReplyDeleteA resounding YES to your question ... is this love!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes this indeed seems to be a passion filled love...
ReplyDeleteAnd lucky are the ones who have and give it in life...

ReplyDeleteSuch a passionate poem and then that little twist at the end...wow, was not expecting that at all. Certainly makes me wonder. Very nicely crafted!
