Its the center of your being
......Your core
......Your soul
Its the size of a fist
Encompassing a world within
It is bottomless
Enclosed in a small space
It is spaceless.
A muscle,
Its strong as an iron...
It is not you,
Yet it defines you
A guide, it lights up your path.
When happy, it soars
When excited, it gallops
When sad, it pains
Turns into a tiny,
Claustrophobic place.
Gets hurt many a time
Bears the scars proudly
Scars of a life well lived.

DeleteLoved how you described one of the few things all people share in common. We all have a heart...and how it can get us in trouble sometimes! And how at other times it can help to heal us.

DeleteMy dear Janaki,
ReplyDeleteThe heart holds life's greatest beauty. It holds all our values, our qualities, our compassion. The heart is the reason why love is so strong and potent. The heart is so sensitive that it can indeed be hurt very easily, but can be restored to its natural beauty with time, forgiveness and understanding. The heart is the silent voice that speaks the universal language of love. Very nicely expressed. Thanks for sharing.
