SOME MEASURES FOR THESE?

Does...
ECG measure feelings?
EEG the thoughts?
Dols, the pain of the broken heart?
Udometer for the tears shed?

How does one measure....
The depth of love,
The heaviness of a heart,
Mother’s intuition,
The beauty in the nature
The creative conception?
Hope, belief and faith
Do you have logical or scientific answers for these?

  1. How does one measure any of those things? I have no answer but i do know that when love is there then actions reflect the love. Thoughtful and lovely post my dear.

  2. Does the final truth necessarily have to be logical? Logic is just another idea that the human brain has devised...

  3. Some things just can't be measured by the instruments of man...but we can often see their potency by the way they express themselves in life. Great poem. :)

  11. Hello Janu.
    My first comment went poof!
Love is so vast & colossal that it would be impossible to measure or even understand. As humans, we have limited understanding of its true meaning. I'm with you & Brian...I'm having too much fun diving into love's depths.

  12. Indeed, indeed. My questions, too and I think we agree that the answer is there's no measurements possible on the many important things in our lives.

  13. Your poem made me stop and think. And I came up with this: The unit of measurement of memory is a thought. The unit of measurement of the heart is a kiss.

  14. Hmmn, thought provoking! But I think there are some things that exist in the shadows that can't be measured by any standard. Wonderful poem.

  15. It's a very sweet post, and i wish I had the answers. I have asked myself these questions since as far as I remember. I always thought, if i could prove with some kind of a machine how I feel, if one can know how his words are making me feel, maybe people would be kinder to each other.

  16. I don't believe that anyone can measure the depth of love, or of any emotion. Would we want to? Imagine what kind of world that would create...
