KARMA.

“A man is born alone and dies alone; and he experiences the good and the bad consequences of his karma alone; and he goes alone to hell or the Supreme abode.’ – Chanakya.

Karma – that which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect.

This is a shloka from The Bhagwat Geeta –
Karmanyevadi Karaste Maphaleshu Kadhachana
Ma Karmaphalahetur Bhoorma Matesangatswa Karmani”

Meaning – You have the right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of action. Never consider yourself the cause of the result of your activities and never be attached to not doing your duty.

For many this may be debatable...but, simply put – As you sow, so shall you reap. Life is like a wheel – what goes round comes round and nothing is permanent. We have to practice ‘detachment’ and learn to let go. This is easier said than done. That’s why ...practice.

Just do your Karma..:)

  1. Indeed affirmative thoughts to start the morning. We shall belive in actions as they are managed by God.

  2. Hello Janu. How are you today?
When I was younger, my mom always used to instill in us these same words...practice what you preach, what goes around comes around & you reap what you sow. How true those words are today. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I have always been taught to treat others how I would want them to treat me. I live by 'what comes around, goes around'. We all need to work our Karma ☺ The world would be a much better place, don't you think?

  4. Love this reflection on Karma. Detachment is not easily achieved, but it is necessary if we are to truly live our lives freely and meaningfully. And, yes, we DO reap what we sow.
    Blessings, Janaki!
